SUSAN RUNDELL

Congratulations goes to Susan Rundell for being chosen as the student to be spotlighted for June 2003

SUSAN RUNDELL

Susan Rundell is an eight year old who earned her Black Belt in October 2002. She has been studying Shotokan Karate at Fournier's Olympic Karate center in Portland , ME since the age of 3 1/2. She was eager to begin after watching how much fun her big brother Ethan, who earned his Black Belt at the age of Ten, was having.

Susan is extremely accomplished at kata and weapons. Her favorite weapon is the Bo, which she moves with astonishing precision, power and agility. She has been competing regionally for just over a year and already has quite a list of achievements. The list includes, twelve first place trophies, six gold medals and three second place trophies. She was the Maine state SMART division champion and state Grand Champion in her division in 2001 while still a brown belt.

Susan trains under Renshi-Shihan Antonio Fournier and seven other outstanding Black Belt instructors and trains everyday. She is a member of the Fournier's demo team, "HIT" High Intensity Team". She is one of the bright young martial artist today and we look forward to great things from her in the near future. She is our choice for June 2003.
