Congratulations goes out to Lauren Kearney for being chosen as the student to be spotlighted for November 2003

LAUREN KEARNEY

Lauren Kearney began to make a name for herself in 2000, appearing onstage for several weapons grand championships. She appeared on the televised U.S. Open. In 2001. She's not only won several weapons grand championships over the past few years, but she's also set a new standard by earning a first place ranking in traditional weapons, open weapons, traditional forms, open forms, musical forms, and sparring. Extremely intense, Lauren is great with the bo and traditional kata.

She has been training in martial arts for 11 years and is a second degree black belt in Kenpo; her instructors include Greg Silva, Paul "Stingo" Garcia, and Casey Marks. Lauren is an excellent student in school, a member of the National Honor Society, and she also participates in track and basketball. Lauren was named 2000 Female Martial Artist of the Year by Black Belt Schools of America. She is our choice for November 2003.
